Keeping Utah’s Kids Disease Free is Our Passion and Our Goal

Eugenia and Jackie are the vaccination queens

October 1, 2013–Vaccinations work.  Today, formerly common childhood illnesses like measles have all but disappeared. Before widespread immunization in the US, infectious diseases killed or disabled thousands of children each year. Vaccines are extremely safe and effective.  Usually vaccines cause no side effects or only mild reactions such as fever or soreness at the injection site. Serious reactions are extremely rare. The risks of serious disease from not vaccinating are far greater.

That’s why we make every effort to vaccinate our patients.

CHC has just learned that our 72nd Street Clinic is #1 in the State for Immunizations for children 0-3 years old.  94% of the clinic’s young patients are immunized, a record for Utah, that includes all health care organizations that provide vaccinations to children, according to Deanne Pranke, RN-BSN, Clinical Programs Coordinator for the Association for Utah Community Health.

Congratulations to Clinic Director Eugenia Araya and Assistant Jackie Montoya for their tireless efforts in reaching out to their young patients to get them into the clinic and immunized.
