Community Health Centers, Inc. (CHC) and Urban Indian Center (UIC) will hold a Spirit 5K and 1K Family Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at Memory Grove

Salt Lake City, UT, September 17, 2014–Community Health Centers, Inc. (CHC), the leading non-profit community health center organization on the Wasatch Front and Urban Indian Center (UIC) announce their organizations will host their Annual 5K and 1K Family Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at Memory Grove Park located at 300 N. Canyon Road in Salt Lake City. This run will begin on E. Bonneville Blvd., next to the Utah State Capitol and conclude in the park. It comprises an adult 5K fun run, a 1K kid’s fun run and a 5K Family walk. The goal of this non-competitive, family-friendly event is to promote healthy lifestyles. Other activities include planting of rose bushes, an aerobic round dance, free blood pressure checks and healthy snacks.

“This event supports our commitment to improve health outcomes for the communities we serve,” said Dexter Pearce, Executive Director of the Community Health Centers, Inc. “We also want our families and friends to have fun and enjoy life.”

Onsite registration opens at 8 am. Participants will receive a free event tee shirt. A $15 donation per person is requested; however, anyone not able to donate is welcome to participate as well. All donations received will provide healthcare for uninsured, low-income individuals.
