Meet CHC’s new Finance Director, James Christensen

May 28, 2015 — Please join CHC in welcoming James Christensen, MBA to our executive team as Director of Finance.  James’ office base is the 72nd Street clinic with our administrative James at his deskteam.

James earned an MBA from the University of Utah with a focus on accounting and finance in 2013.   He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mandarin Chinese n 2003, with honors, and studied in Beijing, China on a scholarship.  He brings a strong financial background to his new role, with experience as the Director of Finance at Genscape in Louisville, Kentucky.  James spent the first years of his professional career as the Head of Finance at Metastock in Salt Lake City, and an Accountant and Financial Analyst for Equis International.

His business acumen spans a range of skills including business process improvement, strategic resource planning, efficiency improvement, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting—an excellent fit for his role at CHC.  He carefully analyzed Community Health Centers, Inc. before applying, and knew it was a good use for his skill set, because he is passionate about people, numbers, technology, and processes.  James feels fortunate that the executive team at CHC felt the same way.

James and his wife, Allison have known each other since Junior High School, and married three years ago. He enjoys spending time with Allison and her daughter, Reagan, who is the light of his life.   He came to CHC via Kentucky and was very happy to find a position here in Utah, where he was born and raised, and where his wife and daughter are.  He is happy to be home.

When he’s not crunching numbers or analyzing data, James enjoys napping, eating, and watching movies.  His more active interests span canyoneering, mountain biking, snowboarding, yoga, self-improvement, and carrying out home renovations.  He lives near the office, so he’ll be able to enjoy his free time pursuing these ambitious activities.  We are so glad to add James to our team of talented and dedicated professionals.
